Advancing from the TNP Reptiles and Amphibian Course, this 4-hour workshop led by expert herper Eric Fann dives deeper into the natural history of Tennessee’s reptiles.  This workshop will explore Class Reptilia and the 300-million-year evolution of these species to present day representatives. We will look at the historical diversity on a global level and talk briefly about the sub-groups. We will also discuss snakes and their history with lizards and how venom has evolved in the reptile group. The course will focus on indigenous species; their habitat, physiology, natural history, and present dangers. 1.5 - 2-hour lecture with live animal observations; 2 - 2.5 hours in the field on site. 4 hours of TNP Continuing Ed

What to expect/bring:  Masks are required to attend.  Appropriate foot gear for hiking rocky/hilly terrain, bug spray, a snack if desired.  We will take a short 10-minute break between lecture and field. We will use our night vision as the sun goes down.  Leaders will carry flashlights in case of emergencies.
